Overview
Blumira requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the app, and users can choose to configure one or multiple authentication methods in addition to their login credentials to secure their account. Every user is prompted to choose another authentication method the first time that they log in to the app. If MFA is reset for the user's account, such as when they get a new device, the user is again prompted to enroll in MFA.
Reference: See reset instructions in Resetting MFA for Blumira users.
Supported MFA options include push notifications, one-time passcodes, and security key (e.g. Yubikey) pairing. Biometric device pairing is also supported in accounts that already have at least one of the other authentication methods enabled.
Note: To use security keys or biometric authentication, your browser must have JavaScript enabled.
Adding a new authentication method
To add another authentication method to your account:
- Go to app.blumira.com and click Log in.
- Select one of the authentication options.
- Complete the subsequent steps when prompted to complete your enrollment and confirm that you have copied your recovery code.
- (Optional) After you have enrolled at least one of the MFA app or security key options, you can configure biometric authentication if your device and browser support fingerprint or face recognition key pairing.
